I requested a fat separator for Christmas (my old one cracked) and received this one from my Mom. I love the fact that it will hold a full 4 cups of liquid and it has a stopper that seems to make the fat rise to the top quickly. The soft grip handle is comfortable in my hand. Just put the pieces in the dishwasher and cleanup is a snap!
The only thing I don't like is the large holes in the strainer let small pieces of meat, skin, etc. slip down into the broth. To solve the problem, when I pour the broth out, I pour it through a fine wire mesh strainer.
Of the three separators that I've owned, this is by far the best one! I highly recommend it.

Just buy it!
The spout stopper does stop liquid into the spout until you pull it out. The tall part of the cup near the spout is key when you are pouring. It is higher than the rest of the cup because liquid wants to inch up and out of the cup. The ones with an even brim will have problems with liquid pouring out of the cup from the top. So this design is good.
For some reason, the rubber part of my handle is coming loose from the plastic handle. Its just a cover and I'll probably glue it on. Its just a cover and doesn't effect usage.

I've used a few different ones, and read reviews of them all before I bought this one. It's designed sensibly so that the fat does not even get into the spout.
Being plastic it's more durable than glass (which is good when I get busy as I finish up a holiday meal and sometimes bump things). Yet, it's much more heat-resistant plastic than the very first separator I owned that did its job, but looked awful after a short time.
We make a LOT of soup and gravy and this will be in our kitchen for a long, long time.

I make my own stock frequently so this gets a lot of use.
Pros:
It's a perfect size. A full separated will perfectly fill a quart canning jar
The handle doesn't get hot while straining liquids
The stopper is great for an emergency wine stopper
It's dishwasher safe
Cons:
I wish the strainer was a bit finer because solids do manage to make it through. Cheesecloth works but it's messy when doing large amounts of stock.

I bought this at Target 2 years ago only because it was the only fat separator in stock, and I needed it immediately. I wanted something simpler and cheaper, since I only use it once a month or so. That said, I LOVE it! I'm so happy to have it- it is easy to use, and it goes through the dishwasher every time with no issues. The plunger is a great addition to traditional separators, and the raised lip at the front ensures easy pouring, even when it is nearly full.
