I was so happy to buy this. I have been looking for a way to separate the fat from the stock when making roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, or rump roast so my gravy would be smooth. this has been the perfect answer, the stopper keeps the fat from going up the spout when first pouring up the stock. The 4 cup size is also the perfect size. anything smaller would not be as useful. Great item for every kitchen,Customer Review: It works!

What else would you expect from Oxo? This is your typical separator with the Oxo innovative twist. The stopper in the spout prevents that little bit of fat from entering the spout. The strainer that fits in the top keeps out the bits. The soft grip is nice and gives you a secure hold.
On Thanksgiving, when you are rushing around at the last minute, this separator will be a godsend!

This device is one of those items that just gets the job done well with no fuss. I have used another fat separator in the past but this one is much better. I especially like the large handle as I have large hands and the screened lid is nice as well. Also the spout plug really does the job of keeping the fat out of the spout.
