I bought this before Thanksgiving (I am the gravy man in our family). I have owned and used similar products, but this separator is head and shoulders the best. Size, shape, cup/ml markings, and strainer are all excellent, and the spout plug which keeps the fat out of the spout while the rises to the top is superb.Customer Review: No more fatty gravy

Used it last weekend, worked great. It took only a few seconds and I could see all the fat floating on top. Just make sure that stopper has to be in before you pour in the juices. Easy cleanup...just throw it in the dishwasher, not sure why other people complained about it. Wish I would have bought a few years agoCustomer Review: Quick, Easy and Safe.

YES, you can pour boiling hot liquid from right-out-of-the-oven roasting pans into the Oxo Good Grips Fat Separator. Plug and filter work great too. I replaced a far more costly, thick-walled plastic separator, which cracked when oven hot liquid was poured in. Don't be fooled by very low price of the Oxo.Customer Review: Excellent Tool

I have also used a fat separator in the past and this one is preety much top notch. It strains (although I wish it had a mesh strainer top) and does just what it needs to. Keeps the fat separated for gravy. The 4 cup size is a plus. My old one was 1 cup and sometimes I had to separate twice..Customer Review: Essential tool

I got this for christmas several years ago after searching fruitlessly for a gravy separator. I'm glad I got this one because it has lots of little design features that set it apart, especially the higher lip at the front to prevent spillage. I use it for soups and gravies all the time.
