I am astounded by the many glowing reviews. The tong heads melt. Period. Not just from open flames or hot pans, they disintegrate in any "moderate" cooking environment. I used them once and returned them. As a fan of Oxo products, I was doubly disappointed, but these are not just shoddy design, they are defective.Customer Review: Great if you don't use them for Cooking!

These tongs will melt. Not over extremely high heat but moderate heat! They are great as long as you do not use them for cooking, but useless to cook with!!! I would rate them lower than one star if I could!!!
