After reading the reviewer comments on how great this napkin holder is, I decided to purchase one from Amazon, ignoring the fact that several of you mentioned how hard it was to get the label off. I just thought you guys had arthritis or something.
Got my napkin holder today and I have to admit--it's true, it's true, the label is unbelievable on this thing. However, not to be outdone, I grabbed an oven cleaner that is safe on stainless steel and an abrasive sponge. After leaving the oven cleaner on the napkin for three to five minutes, and using a little elbow grease with the abrasive sponge,the removal of the label was a done deal and the napkin holder is just beautiful!!!!

This is a great little napkin holder! I've tried many different ones but this is the best one yet...I was able to remove most of the label but part of it remained along with glue residue...Soooo I hauled out my trusty glue remover: De-Solv-It...This stuff is great...I have't found a glue label or glue of this sort that it won't remove...It's best to remove as much of the label as possible, spray the De-Solv-It on the problem area and allow to sit for awhile...Several applications may be necessay for stubborn labels because the product needs to reach thru to the surface of the item...I buy De-Solv-It online...It's a bit spendy but a little goes a long way...I buy new about every 4-5 years and I use it frequently...Good luck! I have been in need of a napkin holder for a while but refused to buy a mediocre one. It took a while for me to find this but I love it! The OXO napkin holder looks good and works really well. It pinches the napkins together so that you can easily pull just one napkin out at a time. Of course if you want to pull out 3 napkins it'll pull out precisely 3 napkins, nothing more, nothing less. The only small complaint I have about this is the base of the holder doesn't have a rubber or silicone grip which I think would be nice on tile or granite surfaces. Other than that, I like this napkin holder a lot, it works really well like all the other OXO products.Customer Review: Great Holder - No problem with Label

I really wanted this item but was hesitant to purchase one due to the comments about trying to get the label off. Well, I guess Oxo paid attention to these complaints, because I received my Napkin Pinch today and peeled the whole label off with the first try. There was no remaining sticky glue or residue. So, for you folks that wanted one but decided against it due to the label problem, it appears that has been fixed. I ordered this expecting to have a problem getting the label(s) off, but it was exactly what I was looking for, so I took a chance. So, when this arrived, I carefully picked at the corner of the single label with my fingernail. To my surprise, the label started to peel off. And it kept peeling off until all I had left was some fringe residue. I tentatively wiped at that with my finger and was pleased when it came right off. If reviews on the label are holding you back, jump right in. And the product works beautifully for me.
