Okay, so the title is trite, but it is fair to say that this item is a bit larger than the standard grocer purchased wire whisk pastry cutter. This makes it a bit large for the average lady's hands, and it forces the working arm to be slightly higher. But it is tough. I use whole wheat pastry dough from the freezer and very cold butter for making pastry. The average wiry dough blender cannot cut it. This one does the job, and I don't fear that it may come apart and cause injury.
The prongs are a bit farther apart from each other than the wire pastry cutters. That's okay because good pastry should leave the butter about the size of a pea. This cutter cannot get it smaller than that.
It takes a bit of getting used to, but I like it, and will not return to the wire blenders.

Purchased this one for my daughter as I already have one. In the past I tried 2 other ones and this one it the best one so far. My previous one was a wire one that was completely useless, the one before that was so long ago I just remember it broke. This one cuts into dough well and works great in the curves of bowls. The only glitch it may have is, depending on the dough, you may have to clean out the blades here and there as they get clogged. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with it.Customer Review: good value

Good product for a basic pastry cutter.Blades are fairly stiff and distort very little with use.Grip is very comfortable for my small hands and grips well.Not large so if you do large batches you will get a workout.Why are blades always so not sharp on these cutters? The blender is quite solid and the handle is very comfortable in the hand. Item arrived with one of the blades bent inward occluding one of the spaces between the blades. Not that big a deal, but seems like the packaging should have been more solid around the delicate end of the device.
