Customer Review: Best for the job
Summary: 5 Stars

Believe all the 5 stars and none of the others. This product does the job, and it does it well.

Customer Review: Works as advertised, but there is no perfect tool for this
Summary: 4 Stars

I will confess that I didn't buy this at Amazon, but I've had one for a few years and use about every time I need Garlic. It works simply and easily, just put the cloves in and roll around without applying too much pressure. The cloves come out and the peels stay in. If you only have to do a few cloves it works great. Run some water through the cylinder when you're done to rinse out the peels. If you need to do more, you'll end up with a lot of peels in the cylinder and it will not do a great job peeling the later cloves. If you rinse out the cylinder, then it's wet and will not do a good job of peeling the later cloves. I've had to rinse out the cylinder and shake the unit to get every bit of water out before using it to peel more cloves. Fortunately, the unit is silicone and water doesn't stick to it very well. Someone commented on having to trim the ends of the garlic. I always trim the top part of the clove and never use it it my cooking anyway. I don't find I have to trim it before using this tool and will usually trim the top off after peeling. All this being said, I'm not sure there is a perfect tool for doing this. I've used the competitors and they work about as well and are probably harder to dry after rinsing out.

Customer Review: Kinda cool
Summary: 4 Stars

I got my peeler yesterday and put it to a brief test. I popped in 3 cloves, rolled it on the counter as instructed, and one popped out peeled. I'm not sure if I did anything wrong, or if maybe the cloves got a bit wet. I can see this gizmo takes a little practice. Sadly, I don't think I'll give a garlic peeler 5 stars until I locate the one I bought at a state fair booth nearly 20 years ago and I lost it. It was a mechanical peeler that you popped the clove into a cavity in the peeler, squeezed the handle and out popped a peeled clove on the other side. I haven't seen anything like it before or since.

Until I find it, this simple device from Oxo will do.

Customer Review: Love my new garlic peeler
Summary: 4 Stars

I had never heard of a garlic peeler until my sister-in-law told me she purchased one at a kitchen store. So I went onto your site and found one. Knowing my son uses allot of garlic also, I purcased two of the peelers. My husband is the cook in our family - lucky me - and he loves the peeler, says it works great. We especially like the included box holder that keeps the peeler clean and in good shape. For families that use allot of garlic, this product definitely is for you.

Customer Review: It actually works
Summary: 4 Stars

I was skeptical when I ordered this for my wife. However, it actually does work. If you're doing more than whole garlic bulbs worth of cloves, though, it'll probably need to be cleaned in between. It also tends to damage some of the cloves. We did a whole bunch in advance and maybe 20% had to be used right away (we shoved them in some olive oil).

Definitely saves a lot of frustration, though, surprisingly enough.
