Customer Review: This brush is great for liquid sauces but don't throw out your regular brushes just yet.
Summary: 5 Stars
The first time I tried using this brush was to brush char siu sauce on my Chinese roast pork. The Oxo basting brush really made basting the pork a short and safe effort (great reach to stay away from a hot surface). No bristles coming off onto the meat that I had to remove as with my normal boars or other type bristles (there's always a few stray bristles I have to remove). But as I said in my review of the Oxo Good Grips Silicone Pastry Brush, because the silicone bristles are not stiff, these Oxo brushes are best used with liquids or paste type sauces. What I mean is that I can't use this brush to butter ramekins using stick butter out of the fridge: the butter needs to be melted.
PROS: Easier to wash clean and dry.
The bristles don't stain.
CONS: Wimpy silicone means you have to have a liquid sauce for this brush to work.
