Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of OXO Good Grips Magnetic Locking Can OpenerCustomer Review: Oxo i-Series Can Opener Summary: 4 Stars
This is certainly one of the better hand can openers I have had. The magnetic top grip is a nice touch.
Customer Review: Just Fine Can Opener Summary: 4 Stars
Works like all can openers should, but most don't. Too expensive to give it a 5.
Customer Review: Sharp edge Summary: 3 Stars
I expected to love this can opener - until I discovered that, contrary to the ads, it left a small, sharp metal spike on the inside of the can right where I could cut my finger. This was disappointing as it was the main reason I had asked for the opener at Christmas. Perhaps there is a soluton but I folowed the directions carefully.
Customer Review: Oxo Can Opener Summary: 2 Stars
This device appears at first to be an excellent product. However, very soon after I acqauired the product, two errors occurred: (i) the magnetic lid device began to malfunction, since the cutter did not sever the lids all the way around; (ii) and more importantly the product fell apart after two months, because the small pin at the top of the product holding the two halves of the product together fell out or otherwise failed. I was able to reassemble the two halves by reinserting the pin and fumbling around and finally reseating the two halves. However, at this price, such failure so early in the product's useful life is unacceptable.
Customer Review: The opener which couldn't Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this can opener after reading superlative reviews from Cooks Illustrated. It looks cool, but it does not open anything. Not a single can. After attaching to can, the can does not move as you twist the mechanism. Ended up going to BB@Beyond and bought less expensive Oxo which works fine.
