Get this and the I-series Y peeler. and some extra blades, although i am not sure if i will need them for a while.... This redefines sharp. It simply glides. Not sure why they put a potato eyer on the y model, esp since I'm left-handed and you have to flip it to use. but certainly works great on this ambidextrous model. Pick these up for yourself and for those you love.
No I don't own OXO stock. Check out the i-series can opener. smart design.

My wife is very selective when it comes to kitchen tools. She declared this one "great." In our house for a kitchen tool to be declared great it must work perfectly, be easy to wash, and most important come with directions that must never, under any circumstances, be read for any reason. Therefore this tool is "great."
I like the idea of the replaceable blades but wonder if we'd just order a new one peeler should the blade become dull.

This is probably the best peeler I've ever used. Far better than the cheap peelers you'd get at the grocery store. The peeler is cast out of zinc and has a soft, rubberized coating on the grip. It is nicely weighted and shaped perfectly. The blade is also wickedly sharp; on par with a high-quality kitchen knife. I used it to peel some carrots and potatoes for a stew and it worked much quicker and with less fuss than my old peeler. Highly recommended.Customer Review: GREAT PEELER

This is a great peeler, I tried it on vegetable peels and fruit peels, it works fantastic, also when the blades gets dull, you can purchase refill blades (comes in 2 pack case).
The handle works great, I have a small hand and it was very comfortable. Peeling fruits like apple or pears the skin stayed in one piece.
Worth the extra money it cost, plus if you look for newer stock there is also a blade guard that comes with the peeler.

This is best peeler I've bought so far. I have been searching for the perfect peeler and had recently purchased a Zyliss peeler. The Zyliss peeler is also very good, but I think I like the OXO better. The OXO is much heavier and easier to grip than any other peeler, so you don't slip and accidentally shave your finger. It's more expensive, but I think it's worth it after buying a lot of cheap ones that just rust or are too dull.
