This has become our favorite kitchen knife. Super sharp, keeps a keen edge. Somewhere between a chef's knife and paring knife in size and shape and multifunctional. We reach for this one when in doubt about what knife to use. The longer version is better for slicing big roasts, bread loaves, etc. but this is perfect for working with fruits, veggies and meat portions. So well priced in comparison to similar knives.Customer Review: Amazing value

I use this knife about 80% of the time (pretty much whenever I don't need a serrated knife or a giant cleaver). The handle is grippy, the balance and weight feel good, the blade is sharp, and it meets all of my slicing/dicing/chopping/mincing needs except when I encounter an especially large carrot or onion. I have no buyer's regret about this knife, although I'm thinking about also getting the 6.5" version.Customer Review: As good as the larger version

We have the larger Oxo Sentoku Knife and were very impressed with it, so we purchased the smaller model here too. It is every bit as good as the larger one, but in a more compact knife. The blade will require sharpening after a while, but it comes shipped very sharp and ready to cut. Great for cutting stuff that generally sticks to the blade. For the average cook and home-maker who is looking for a good knife to chop and dice, and is relatively inexpensive, this OXO 4" Santoku knife is a good way to go. The Oxo Good Grips Professional 4" mini santoku knife is extremely useful in the kitchen. You can spread with it as well as cut/slice with it. It's not so large that it's difficult to handle. I highly recommend it for general use. In fact I bought 2 of them!
