Customer Review: The Salt Grinder of My Dreams!

Finally, a salt grinder that makes sense! I've been through three other salt grinders and they have all had major flaws. The last one, which looked like an acrylic pepper grinder, was attractive on the table, but left little mounds of salt under it because the salt ground out of the bottom. Not a very smart design. It also had a rather stiff grinding knob on top and only ground to a single fine powder.
The OXO on the other hand, has been designed brilliantly. The salt comes out the top (you turn it over to grind) so no lost salt on the table surface. The grinder has 5 size settings, from very fine to coarse. I tend to use the next-to-smallest setting at table, but the next-to-largest when I'm salting meat or chicken to be browned. The rubberized grinding grip is ergonomic and very smooth. Hardly takes any strength to rotate. And, finally, the transparent salt chamber holds a lot at one time and makes it easy to see when refilling is needed.
So, I give this a rating of "perfecto"! I just might order the pepper grinder so that I can avoid the little piles of pepper that gather under my fancy William Bounds grinder (although that is a good grinder).
