I got this for my wife because she always complained about mashing potatoes. This thing didn't do a very good job. She ends up continuing to mash the potatoes by hand. We both hate lumpy mashed potatoes.Customer Review: sticky fingers

This does mash nicely, but if you use it in more than a very small pan, you get your fingers covered with potatoes! The handle is really too short, and I don't actually find it ergonomic. It makes you get in a slightly strange position, since your hand has to be clenched on the top rather than gripping from the side. I'm buying something else!Customer Review: Wasn't impressed

I wasn't impressed with this item for one reason. It arrived at my home broken. How well made could it have been if it arrived in two pieces?I have loved all the other OXO items that I have purchased, but this one was a loser.

While the grip is indeed super-comfortable, I ended up with lumpy mashed potatoes. I think the holes are just too small, so the bulk of the potatoes kept slipping out from under the masher. I'm returning mine. :(
