For the price, this is an awesome scale. Here's what I love.
1) Easy to use. I read the instruction booklet after I played with it and turns out I had figured out all the features anyway.
2) Pull out display so you can use larger bowls.
3) Backlight option. Not all my counterspace is well lit, so seeing with the touch of a button is great.
4) Weight conversion button. I just got a bunch of recipes from Italy and they are all in grams, but the bulk of my recips are ounces. Easy touch of a button swithces modes.
OXO products rock and this no exception.

I had an older scale that was a sliding type scale, and you could pretty well guess up to quarter pounds if the line was right on the quarter pound, half, 3/4 or pound mark, but it WAS just a guess how much you were weighing. Thought it would be nice to have a more accurate one, since I wanted to start weighing ingredients in recipes instead of measuring cups for more accuracy. I couldn't be happier with this scale...all the reviews that tell of the pluses are certainly true, and the size is perfect to store away, or leave on the kitchen counter. I got an OXO Soft Works Food Scale from Target that is similar to this product, but a little less fancy. It's smaller, has a 5 lb capacity and the weighing platform is plastic rather than stainless steel. Also, the display (which also has the pull-out feature) does not have a back-lit display...it takes two AAA batteries. The Target price for this "less fancy", but very functional scale is 39.99. It has the same weighing features (zero-function, English and Metric measurements, remaining capacity indicator) as the one sold here at Amazon. The Oxo Good Grips Scale is a beautifully designed item that works accurately to measure food portions.
It takes up little space on the counter and measures accurately to fractions of ounces. Once again, Oxo has
come up with a winner. It was a great asset in helping me reach my goal weight on a diet as I no longer had to guess at portion sizes of meat and fish.
I purchased it from Amazon after unsuccessfully looking in local stores for a scale that I liked. My order came quickly, with batteries included and I use it every day. It is an excellent product at a reasonable price.

It's a scale. I weigh pre-measured things and it's dead on. Very scale-like.
Pros:
- My favorite feature is that you can weigh something in ounces and switch the measurement to grams without resetting the weight. My last scale had a shared tare/units button and it made me want to punch dolphins.
- Backlit. Hey, sometimes a man wants to weigh out 43g worth of grapes in the dark. Don't judge.
- It doesn't look stupid in my kitchen.
Cons:
- It wasn't free.
- It wasn't delivered by a hot asian delivery girl in a bikini.
