Customer Review: A great over the sink colander

I Love this colandar. Yes, it has it done sides as the previous reviewer mentions, however, there are plus' too. First, it is quite large and takes up a lot of room in the dishwasher, therefore, I clean it manually. It is very easy to do and leaves a lot more room for other things in the dishwasher. The main thing I love is that it fits over the sink. When you use it this way you do not have any of the water in the sink backing up to soak the food if you have a lot of water. This is especially good for pasta, beans, etc. Also, if you often have a couple of things in the sink to be washed as I do, you can still rinse without having to wash up even the smallest item. If I need berries or lettuce to be washed I use the salad spinner or berry spinner. A handled sieve works great for just a few berries to be washed and drained.
It all depends on what you are looking for. This is especially good for draining hot water items. I often need more than one sieve for different things. The salad spinner is great but I don't put hot items in it and don't always want to wash it up for spaghetti when making the salad, etc. This along with the salad spinner and sieve are enough for me. I use to have more colandars but decided to downsize under the sink when we had a water purifier put it. This was the best one to keep for me.
Update: I have had this colendar for a couple of years and have not had any problem with the handles as others have reported.
