I got this to replace my West Bend timer (a model before this one: West Bend Digital Timer, White) which I had dropped on the ground about 4 times too many. I was a little hesitant to get this because of some bad reviews, but then all timers seem to have a stack of bad reviews so it was a bit of a gamble no matter what I chose.
I'm so glad I got this one. Why? The timer is so easy to use (though I did skim the directions before using it which probably helped). I love that it automatically begins to count up once the timer goes off. The buttons are so much better than the round OXO timer my mom has (I hate using her timer because of the squish of the buttons, it never feels like I'm pressing them properly). It's lightweight but still feels sturdy (not cheap). The timer alerts are loud and okay, not the most melodic, but I can hear it at the other side of the house and that's what counts. I love the memory button - I am not sure how useful others would find it, but I love it for brewing tea and setting my 15 minute chore timer. And I love that it has the ability to do three timers at once. Gone are the days that I have to set my timer, then use the stove timer to time something else, then the microwave timer for yet another thing. It's all in one place!
The only thing that makes this not 100% perfect is that when pressing the Start/Stop and Clear/Memory buttons, it rocks forward just a bit. All of the other button pushes are solid and don't shift the timer at all, but pushing those two makes the back end lift a little. Not really a problem (not even enough to make me take off a star) but enough to make it not quite perfect.
My West Bend timer was fine and if I hadn't found something else, I would have repurchased it. But this OXO timer is seriously awesome and, if I managed to break it by dropping it lots (and lots) like I did with my old timer, I'd repurchase this in a second.
Description of OXO Good Grips Triple Timer
Time three events at once or long events with secondary intervals with the Oxo good grips triple timer. Setting the timer is easy and intuitive with the soft buttons on the number keypad. All three times are 100 hours in duration and each have a specified line on the easy-to-read LCD. Simply press the corresponding button (t1, t2, t3) to set each timer. Each timer has distinctive alarm sounds to differentiate between them. The LCD conveniently converts to clock mode when the timer is not in use. The angled face provides better visibility on countertops and shelves and a nonslip bottom provides stability and surface protection. Batteries are included.Timers
