These early OXO award winning mills with glass jars are the best mills I have ever had. It is unlikely I would ever buy another type. The new designs appear to be an unnecessarily jazzed up version with Acrylic jars. I suppose the ornamentation was added for 'table presentation'. However, if you want simplicity and high function you'll have to hunt down the originals. They're worth the effort, believe me.
Description of OXO Grind It 41201 Spice Grinder with Empty Jar
Add fresh ground nutmeg, cinnamon or cardamom to a warm bowl of oatmeal with this spice grinder from Oxo. Oxo crafted the spice grinder in a nonporous ceramic material that resists rust and corrosion. Equipped with an empty jar to fill with desired spices, the grinder is installed in the jar cap. The simple-to-use grinder features marked increments to assist with measurement while a knob allows users to adjust for a fine or coarse grind. With a handy release button to remove the lid, users may opt to attach additional jars to the lid to grind other spices. The lid is cushioned on the outside to create an ergonomic grip for users while grinding. To clean the grinder, rinse in warm, soapy water and air dry.
