Have wanted a garlic press for quite a while but never bought one for fear of getting a dud. After reading reviews of this one I finally caved and bought it. I could not be happier! This product has completed my kitchen utensil wish list. Even my mom is impressed with the ease & comfort of this garlic press. I can remember growing up listening to my mom and grandma discuss the importance of a good garlic press. Felt so good to whip this wonderful product out when my mom came to visit. She wants one now! ;) The price couldn't have been better either.Customer Review: Awesome!

I figured, based on the size and shape of the handles (and price), that this was a dark-side Oxo product (they seem to flip between crappy and brilliant). Wrong! This thing is a weapon -- the handles have to be solid (the weight is the proof). I love this thing. I'm pretty sure that it is quite impossible for this to store or leak water in any way. Cleanup is no worse or better than any other garlic press, folks. The low ratings and negative comments are definitely for one of the OTHER Oxo garlic presses on Amazon (there are several).Customer Review: What a cool tool!

That lady was right, it does have a good heft. It is shiny and easy to clean. It also presses out garlic in a way that I've never experienced before. It's so good I also end up using much more garlic than ever before, and it is fun to use this garlic press. Can't beat it with a stick, it's my favorite gadget. I only wish I gotten one years ago so I could have tasted the difference that freshly pressed garlic truly has. No worries here, no disappointments ahead from choosing this item. After reading about this well-reviewed press on Amazon, I decided to put it on my wish list, and received it. I have to say, I am impressed, after two recent previous presses with breakable plastic handles or lousy pressing mechanisms, this one gets the job done. A bit heavy, but the stainless steel is what makes it so solid. OK to throw in dishwasher, or otherwise easy to hand clean. Stylish looking, if you are into that sort of thing. The skin around the garlic clove impedes proper pressing of garlic. It causes a (large) portion of garlic to be "pressed" around the edge of the plunger and wasted. Removing the skin prevents this and also increases the amount of minced garlic by 2 or 3. I really like the oxo. It is cheap and well made and produces excellent quality minced garlic. Only one glove at a time though. BTW the healthiest way to eat garlic is to add it AFTER you are done cooking (Look it up).
