They look good, steel and black rubber-like grip.

This clip had a strong magnet, good gripping surface and solid construction. They should last a long time without breaking. They are a bit pricy though.
The description says that the clips can stand upright on a flat surface to hold photos or place cards for display. However, they are not flat enough on the back edge to hold a photo or card upright without tipping to the side unless it is perfectly centered and balanced. With these, you would need two clips per photo/card. If you want something for this purpose, go with the plastic OXO mini clips 8 pack. Those are significantly smaller (and cheaper) and have a flatter back edge that lets them easily hold a photo or place card upright.

I bought these magnetic clips to hold dish towels and papers on our refrigerator. They stay on the surface alright themselves, but slide down if you clip anything with some weight like dish towels. For the towels, therefore, I would look for bigger magnets.
