I bought two of these - one for the kitchen and one for the laundry room where I feed my cat. They work great in both areas. It's easy to dump the debris and they just seem cleaner than the usual sink strainers.

A useful little accessory for any sink. The convenient little handle makes it a breeze to remove the strainer from the sink hole and allows the silicon mesh to be inverted easily. I like the fact that the silicon is of a dark color which makes it almost indiscernible when it's sitting in the sink hole. The metal frame is raised only slightly so there is minimal blockage for the waste flowing into the strainer. Wish it could have been flat but I guess that might be an impossible design.
Make sure you have at least an inch and a half of clearance for the strainer to sit comfortably in the sink hole.

I like the fact that it is very decorative, and it is also easy to dispose trapped food particles away from the sink; however, it gets really slimy underneath the rim if you do not brush or clean it regularly. This is one disadvantage that I can think of. Customer Review: I Love It!

Like one of the previous opinions, I can't believe I'm writing a review of a sink strainer. One of the "yuckies" in life is cleaning out the little bits of food etc that accumulate in the sink and this wonderful little gadget traps 'em all, does not impede the flow of water, and is wonderfully easy to just pop out over the trash. It is also then very easy to wash before returning to the drain. Life often is about the "little things", and this is one of them that makes me happy. Customer Review: Nice work

You know, I gotta say this is a damn good strainer. I can't believe I'm even dedicating time to this - but a good product is a good product.
I used to have one of the wire mesh dealies and it stunk: gunk would get caught in there, and would have slam it against the trash to just begin to clean it.
I recently washed pans with pasta and oatmeal and had the water running. The OXO strainer never stopped up and took seconds to clean afterwards. The edges fit cleanly to prevent food stuffs from creeping under and into my drain.
Solid. Worth the extra $$$.
