We tried approx. 10 tongs before finding this one. It was worth the search and the wait.
Five excellent features:
(1) the comfortable oxo handles;
(2) the nylon heads which provide a sure grip on all kinds of food, big and small;
(3) the lock/unlock mechanism (which doesn't move 'til you move it, unlike a lot of other tongs);
(4) your fingers don't get caught and pinched (which happened on almost all other tongs);
(5) holds up very well in the dishwasher
We use this daily on everything from toast to corn to chops, and it is a workhorse.
A lot of tool for a little money; an excellent investment for your kitchen!
