I tried this gadget out on a bowl of cherries as soon as it arrived, and I was not disappointed with my purchase. It worked just as advertised, and the little shield did a good job of keeping the juice from spraying all over the kitchen. I was motivated to buy this because my toddler grandson loves cherries but I didn't want to let him swallow too many pits.
