Customer Review: Wish it cleaned up as well as it chops

I bought my Mom this smaller-sized chopper for nuts, herbs, onions & scallions.
The good news: It chops evenly and efficiently, with a comfy plunging action.
The bad news: you have to take the entire chopper apart in order to clean it properly. There are multiple interior pieces and lots of nooks and crannies where food particles get trapped. And if you miss anything, it will mold in place (yuck.) We regularly needed hot soapy water, a toothbrush and about 10 minutes of scrubbing to clean everything out.
OXO has a deservedly great reputation for kitchen gadgets; this one needs a redesign for simplicity and easier cleaning.
Description of Oxo Good Grips Mini Chopper
The Good Grips Mini Chopper makes it easy to chop up nuts, fruits and vegetables - without making your hands smell like onions or garlic. Just press the soft knob and the blades rotate for even chopping. Chop ingredients in the enclosed cup with its soft, non-slip base, or remove the base and chop directly on a cutting board. A tab rotates within the cup to prevent food from accumulating on the side walls. The entire blade cartridge can be removed from the Chopper by simply unscrewing it, so clean up is a breeze.
