Customer Review: At last, an easy to clean, easy to use garlic press

I saw this garlic press when I was shopping for a new stockpot. One glance and i was removing it from the package for closer inspection, and sure enough it went home with me that day (even though I had to wait in line for 10+ minutes at Linens-n-Things watching another clerk folding towels instead of running the register!!)
This press mashes garlic into a paste with little effort. I have carpal tunnel problems and can manage this just fine. Multiple cloves, no problem, it can take one right anfter another. Then, wonder of wonders, the mesh screen pops right out and due to the non-stick coating, the garlic easily rinses off the press and the mesh screen. Five seconds more or less and you're done, it takes far more time to break a clove out of the garlic bulb.
My Susi Deluxe is on the way to the thrift shop, minus of course, the little plastic widget that one is supposed to use to clean the galic from the little holes. That was gone shortly after I purchased it, and instead I have to use a fork to poke the garlic shreds out of the press -- ick.
This will definitely go in my next basket of essential kitchen gadgets for the newlywed! As for mine, I'm hanging on to it for a good long while.
December 2007 update: I have just ordered a new press, after the nonstick coating on this press began to flake off. I am disappointed that the nonstick coating failed, and would reduce my rating if allowed.
