The design of this peeler is excellent. It's easy to grip, and you can reverse or replace the blade. But what really counts is the blade is sharp! Razor sharp! It works so easily it doesn't feel as if you're actually cutting. It comes with a plastic shield for the blade. I suggest you keep it and use it when you store the peeler to preserve that marvelous edge. Customer Review: This is a very good peeler

Let me count the ways: 1. Blade is so sharp, you could perform surgery with it. 2. Smart, smart, smart design. 3. Replaceable blade! Need I say more? 4. Perfect grip - feels natural in the hand. 5. Potato eye remover tip is the best I've ever used. 6. I love you so much, I find excuses to use you! Seriously, I've found no drawbacks with this item. I bought it and a package of spare blades, and I feel like I'm set for life. It makes short work of potatoes, but the way it peels cucumbers is like silk. A true joy to use.
