Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Oxo SteeL Garlic Press, StainlessCustomer Review: Great....at first. Summary: 2 StarsI have owned this garlic press for about one year and the outside coating is flaking off so much that I cannot use it anymore. I am going to spend a little extra this time and get the Kuhn Rikon stainless steel press. Learned lesson once again, you get what you pay for.
Customer Review: great garlic press Summary: 5 StarsThis is a wonderful garlic press! You can fit many small cloves or a couple of large cloves in and easily press, saving time. The cleaner is attached so cleaning the press is very easy. The handles have a nice grip, rounded on the sides but flat whrere it fits in the palm of your hand. It is very heavy duty and seems like it will last a long time.
Customer Review: Awesome! Summary: 5 StarsI figured, based on the size and shape of the handles (and price), that this was a dark-side Oxo product (they seem to flip between crappy and brilliant). Wrong! This thing is a weapon -- the handles have to be solid (the weight is the proof). I love this thing. I'm pretty sure that it is quite impossible for this to store or leak water in any way. Cleanup is no worse or better than any other garlic press, folks. The low ratings and negative comments are definitely for one of the OTHER Oxo garlic presses on Amazon (there are several).
Customer Review: Best Garlic Press I used Summary: 5 Starsthis is the best garlic press I owned or used. I was a bit skeptical about the plastic pieces and how they will wear with time. It is one year since I own it and it is holding just fine. It is very easy to clean too. That's the second reason, why I gave it five stars.
Customer Review: not for real use... great brand, just not for this product Summary: 2 StarsOXO is a great line and i love most of their products, but this press leaves more in the hopper than it pushes out. Prying the leftovers out and chopping up the remains is almost as much a chore as just doing it from the get go. I own this piece of... equipment and would like to trade it for the trudeau model if anyone is crazy enough to take me up on it. Until it happens maybe i'll just go back to the old chef's knife. Spend your $$$ on other OXO stuff like tongs and can openers, not this useless tool.
